## About the Role
TerraPower is seeking an experienced, organized, and highly professional **Senior Legal Assistant** to provide high-quality support to the General Counsel and other legal professionals on a fast-paced legal team. The Senior Legal Assistant will help ensure the legal department operates efficiently by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing and editing communications, coordinating logistics, maintaining legal documents, and supporting legal project work. This may include assisting with agreement edits, document organization, legal research, meeting preparation, and follow-up on key action items.
The ideal candidate is dependable, polished, and able to manage confidential information with sound judgment. This person should be comfortable working with senior leaders, attorneys, internal stakeholders, external counsel, vendors, and business partners while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and responsiveness.
## Key Responsibilities
* Provide administrative and legal support to the General Counsel and other members of the legal team.
* Manage complex calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate appointments, and resolve scheduling conflicts.
* Organize internal and external meetings, including preparing agendas, coordinating logistics, arranging conference rooms or virtual meeting links, and tracking follow-up items.
* Draft, edit, proofread, and format professional communications, correspondence, presentations, reports, and legal department materials.
* Support legal project work, including editing agreements, preparing document drafts, organizing legal files, and tracking matter-related deadlines.
* Assist with basic legal research, document review, and information gathering under the direction of attorneys or legal professionals.
* Coordinate with internal teams, external counsel, vendors, business partners, and other stakeholders on legal department matters.
* Maintain organized legal files, records, agreements, templates, correspondence, and project materials.
* Track deadlines, action items, approvals, document routing, signature requests, and matter updates.
* Help prepare materials for meetings, board-related activities, executive discussions, contract reviews, and legal department initiatives.
* Support contract administration activities, including formatting, redlining support, version control, routing, and document management.
* Handle confidential, privileged, and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
* Assist with expense reports, travel coordination, invoice processing, vendor communications, and other department operations as needed.
* Support legal team processes, including intake tracking, matter management, document workflows, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.
* Help ensure legal department work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with company policies and professional standards.
* Maintain strong communication with attorneys and stakeholders to help projects move forward and deadlines stay on track.
## Required Qualifications
* Experience as a legal assistant, executive assistant, administrative assistant, paralegal assistant, or similar support role.
* Experience supporting attorneys, legal departments, executives, or senior business leaders.
* Strong calendar management, scheduling, coordination, and organizational skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong proofreading, editing, formatting, and document preparation abilities.
* Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, polished work.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and requests in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
* Comfortable working with electronic documents, redlines, PDFs, shared drives, and document management systems.
* Professional judgment, reliability, and ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative legal team.
* Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external counsel, vendors, and senior leadership.
## Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in an in-house legal department, law firm, corporate legal team, government contractor, energy company, technology company, or regulated industry.
* Familiarity with legal documents, contracts, agreements, amendments, NDAs, legal correspondence, and matter files.
* Experience with contract management systems, e-signature platforms, legal matter management tools, or document management platforms.
* Experience assisting with legal research, agreement editing, document comparison, or contract review support.
* Familiarity with legal terminology and common legal department processes.
* Experience supporting a General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer, or senior legal executive.
* Paralegal certificate, legal studies coursework, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience.
* Experience coordinating board materials, executive meetings, compliance documentation, or legal operations activities.
