## About the Role

Amazon is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and business-minded **Data Analyst** to support the Returns Customer Experience team within Amazon Worldwide Returns & ReCommerce. This role focuses on turning returns transportation and operations data into clear insights, actionable recommendations, repeatable processes, and scalable reporting that help improve customer experience and operational performance.

The Data Analyst will work closely with business, operations, transportation, product, program, and technology stakeholders to identify challenges, investigate data, monitor key metrics, and recommend improvements that can scale across global returns processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with Excel and SQL, and the ability to translate complex data into practical business guidance.

The ideal candidate is curious, structured, and comfortable working with large data sets, ambiguous business questions, and cross-functional stakeholders. They should be able to identify trends, uncover root causes, build reporting tools, and help leaders make better decisions through accurate and timely analysis.

## Key Responsibilities

* Retrieve, organize, and analyze returns transportation, operations, and customer experience data using Excel, SQL, and other data management systems.
* Support Amazon Worldwide Returns & ReCommerce by developing insights that improve returns processes, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
* Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges, define analytical questions, and identify data needed to support decision-making.
* Investigate data trends, anomalies, performance gaps, and operational issues related to returns and transportation processes.
* Monitor existing business metrics and identify changes, risks, opportunities, and areas requiring follow-up.
* Build and maintain repeatable reporting processes, dashboards, data views, and analysis templates.
* Design scalable systems and reporting structures that can support global returns operations and long-term business growth.
* Prepare business requirements reviews, analytical summaries, performance reports, and recommendations for stakeholders and leadership.
* Translate data findings into clear business insights, practical recommendations, and measurable improvement opportunities.
* Work with operations, program, product, and technology teams to support process improvements and scalable solutions.
* Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting, improve data quality, simplify analysis, and reduce operational friction.
* Support root-cause analysis for issues affecting returns speed, cost, accuracy, transportation performance, and customer experience.
* Track the impact of process changes, pilot programs, operational improvements, and global initiatives.
* Help define, refine, and document metrics, reporting logic, data definitions, and analytical methods.
* Validate data accuracy, reconcile sources, identify gaps, and escalate data-quality issues when needed.
* Communicate analysis results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Support recurring business reviews, operational updates, project meetings, and performance discussions.
* Maintain a strong understanding of returns operations, transportation workflows, customer experience goals, and business priorities.

## Required Qualifications

* Experience in data analysis, business analysis, operations analysis, reporting, or a related analytical role.
* Strong proficiency with Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data cleaning, analysis, and reporting.
* Experience using SQL to retrieve, join, filter, and analyze data from databases or data warehouses.
* Ability to work with large data sets and translate findings into clear insights and recommendations.
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to identify trends, outliers, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
* Ability to partner with business stakeholders to clarify needs and deliver useful analysis.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder requests in a fast-paced environment.
* Comfort working with ambiguity and developing structured approaches to open-ended business questions.
* Experience creating reports, dashboards, business reviews, or performance summaries.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in e-commerce, retail, logistics, transportation, supply chain, reverse logistics, returns, re-commerce, or customer experience operations.
* Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
* Experience designing scalable reporting systems, automated dashboards, or repeatable analytical processes.
* Familiarity with operations metrics, transportation performance, customer experience metrics, cost analysis, and process improvement.
* Experience preparing business requirements documents, business review materials, or executive-level reporting.
* Experience working with product, program, operations, engineering, or technology teams.
* Knowledge of data quality controls, metric definitions, reporting governance, and data documentation.
* Experience supporting global operations or cross-regional reporting.
* Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, supply chain, operations, finance, or a related field is helpful.
