## About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and results-driven **Logistics Manager** to lead transportation, warehousing, and third-party logistics operations across North America. This role is responsible for managing a small logistics team, coordinating with 3PL partners and carriers, maintaining strong service levels, controlling costs, supporting compliance, and improving end-to-end supply chain performance.

The Logistics Manager will oversee daily logistics execution while also driving process improvement, KPI tracking, vendor performance management, and cross-functional collaboration. This position is ideal for a supply chain professional who can balance operational urgency with long-term improvements in efficiency, reliability, visibility, and cost control.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on logistics leader who understands transportation, warehousing, carrier management, 3PL relationships, service-level expectations, and the importance of accurate reporting and continuous improvement.

## Key Responsibilities

* Lead a small logistics team responsible for transportation, warehousing, and third-party logistics operations.
* Oversee day-to-day logistics execution across North America, including inbound, outbound, warehouse, carrier, and 3PL coordination.
* Coordinate with third-party logistics providers, warehouses, carriers, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure reliable service delivery.
* Monitor shipment performance, warehouse activity, carrier service levels, order flow, inventory movement, and delivery timelines.
* Balance service quality, cost efficiency, compliance requirements, and operational reliability.
* Manage transportation planning, routing, carrier selection, freight coordination, delivery schedules, and exception resolution.
* Support warehousing operations, including receiving, storage, fulfillment, inventory movement, order accuracy, and warehouse performance.
* Track logistics KPIs such as on-time delivery, freight cost, service levels, warehouse accuracy, dwell time, claims, damage rates, and carrier performance.
* Develop reporting routines, dashboards, and performance summaries to improve visibility into logistics operations.
* Identify service issues, bottlenecks, process gaps, cost drivers, and operational risks.
* Lead process improvement initiatives to improve end-to-end supply chain performance.
* Partner with procurement, operations, customer service, finance, sales, planning, and inventory teams to align logistics execution with business needs.
* Manage 3PL and carrier relationships, including performance reviews, issue escalation, service improvement plans, and contract-related support.
* Support freight cost analysis, invoice review, budget tracking, rate management, and cost-saving initiatives.
* Ensure logistics activities comply with company policies, customer requirements, transportation regulations, import/export requirements, safety expectations, and documentation standards.
* Resolve transportation delays, warehouse issues, service failures, inventory discrepancies, claims, and customer-impacting logistics problems.
* Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, logistics workflows, escalation processes, and internal documentation.
* Coach, train, and support logistics team members to improve performance, accountability, and execution consistency.
* Support business growth, new customer requirements, network changes, system improvements, and logistics-related projects.

## Required Qualifications

* Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, distribution, supply chain operations, or third-party logistics management.
* Experience coordinating with 3PL providers, carriers, warehouses, freight brokers, or transportation partners.
* Prior experience leading, supervising, or coordinating a logistics team.
* Strong understanding of transportation operations, warehouse workflows, shipment tracking, freight costs, and service-level management.
* Ability to manage logistics performance across multiple locations, vendors, or regions.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to track KPIs, review operational data, and identify improvement opportunities.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal teams, external partners, vendors, and leadership.
* Ability to manage competing priorities, urgent logistics issues, and time-sensitive operational needs.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve shipment, warehouse, carrier, and service issues.
* Experience supporting cost control, freight optimization, compliance, and process improvement.
* Comfortable using transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, ERP systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, documentation, and follow-through.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Experience managing logistics operations across North America.
* Experience with domestic transportation, LTL, FTL, parcel, intermodal, drayage, cross-border shipping, or international freight.
* Experience in manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, food and beverage, e-commerce, distribution, industrial products, or wholesale environments.
* Familiarity with transportation regulations, customs documentation, trade compliance, hazardous materials rules, or import/export processes.
* Experience negotiating carrier rates, supporting RFPs, reviewing logistics contracts, or managing freight spend.
* Experience building dashboards, KPI scorecards, executive reports, or logistics performance reviews.
* Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, or process mapping.
* Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, business, industrial engineering, or a related field is helpful but not required.
* Professional certifications such as APICS, CSCP, CLTD, Lean Six Sigma, or similar credentials are a plus.

## Work Environment

This role may be based in an office, distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or hybrid environment depending on company operations. The Logistics Manager will work closely with internal teams, external logistics providers, carriers, warehouses, and leadership.

The position may require occasional travel to warehouses, carrier locations, 3PL sites, customer facilities, or company locations across North America. The role may also require flexibility during peak shipping periods, urgent logistics disruptions, inventory events, or high-volume operational cycles.
