# Senior Global Operations Manager

## About the Role

Terraformation is seeking a strategic, organized, and execution-focused **Senior Global Operations Manager** to improve how the organization operates across a portfolio of native-forest carbon projects. This role is responsible for strengthening operating systems, clarifying expectations, reinforcing planning and execution rhythms, and helping teams turn strategic priorities into coordinated action.

The Senior Global Operations Manager will work across global teams, project leaders, functional departments, and stakeholders to identify structural gaps, design practical guidelines and processes, support planning cycles, and drive the rollout of new ways of working. This position is ideal for someone who can see the big picture while also managing operational details, connecting strategy to execution, and helping complex cross-functional work move forward.

The ideal candidate is a strong operator, communicator, and problem solver who can bring structure to ambiguity. They should be comfortable working across geographies, cultures, project types, and stakeholder groups while helping teams improve consistency, accountability, and operational effectiveness.

## Key Responsibilities

* Improve global operating practices across a portfolio of native-forest carbon projects.
* Help translate strategic priorities into clear execution plans, operating rhythms, workflows, and team expectations.
* Identify structural gaps, process breakdowns, unclear responsibilities, and operational friction points across teams and projects.
* Design, document, and implement practical guidelines, processes, templates, and operating standards.
* Maintain planning cycles that help teams set priorities, align resources, track progress, and make timely decisions.
* Drive the rollout of new processes, tools, and operating practices across global teams.
* Partner with project teams, functional leaders, and senior stakeholders to improve coordination and execution.
* Reinforce consistent communication rhythms, reporting expectations, decision-making processes, and accountability structures.
* Support portfolio-level visibility by helping organize project updates, priorities, risks, dependencies, and execution status.
* Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between operations, project delivery, technical teams, finance, partnerships, carbon, legal, and leadership groups.
* Develop operational frameworks that support repeatability, scalability, and quality across a growing project portfolio.
* Track implementation of strategic initiatives and help ensure teams remain aligned on priorities and deadlines.
* Create and maintain documentation that supports clarity, consistency, onboarding, and execution across teams.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help teams adopt more effective ways of working.
* Support change management by helping teams understand, adopt, and sustain new processes.
* Help resolve operational bottlenecks by clarifying ownership, escalating issues, and coordinating action across stakeholders.
* Promote disciplined execution while remaining responsive to the realities of complex, field-based, and international project work.

## Required Qualifications

* Experience in operations management, global operations, program management, project operations, business operations, strategy execution, or a related role.
* Strong ability to design and improve operational systems, processes, workflows, and planning rhythms.
* Experience working across cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders, and distributed or international teams.
* Strong project and program management skills, including planning, prioritization, coordination, documentation, and follow-through.
* Ability to identify structural gaps, clarify responsibilities, and create practical solutions that improve execution.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to turn complex information into clear guidelines, operating models, templates, reports, and action plans.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
* Comfort working through ambiguity and helping teams create structure where processes are still developing.
* Strong relationship-building skills and ability to influence without relying solely on authority.
* High attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Experience supporting environmental, climate, forestry, restoration, carbon, sustainability, agriculture, infrastructure, or international development projects.
* Experience working with portfolios of projects across multiple regions or countries.
* Familiarity with carbon project development, nature-based solutions, reforestation, native forest restoration, or conservation programs.
* Experience designing operating models, governance frameworks, planning cycles, reporting systems, or cross-functional execution processes.
* Experience with change management, continuous improvement, process design, or organizational effectiveness.
* Experience working in a mission-driven, high-growth, or globally distributed organization.
* Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, Airtable, Jira, Notion, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar platforms.
* Experience preparing leadership updates, executive summaries, dashboards, portfolio reports, or operating reviews.
* Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, environmental management, sustainability, international development, project management, or a related field; equivalent experience may also be considered.

## Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who can help teams move from strategy to action. This person understands that global project execution requires clear expectations, reliable systems, strong communication, and consistent follow-through.

They should be comfortable identifying what is not working, designing practical improvements, and helping teams adopt new processes without adding unnecessary complexity. The right candidate will be able to balance structure with flexibility, recognizing that native-forest carbon projects often involve complex field conditions, diverse stakeholders, evolving timelines, and cross-functional dependencies.

This person should be collaborative, calm, organized, and proactive. They should be able to build trust across teams, communicate clearly with leadership, and help create operating systems that make work easier, more transparent, and more effective.

## Work Environment

This role will involve working with global teams and stakeholders across multiple functions, time zones, and project locations. The Senior Global Operations Manager should be comfortable operating in a distributed environment, leading meetings, facilitating planning discussions, managing documentation, and coordinating execution across teams.

The role may require flexibility to support international collaboration and may involve occasional travel depending on business needs. The successful candidate should be self-directed, highly organized, and comfortable working in a mission-driven environment focused on climate, restoration, and large-scale impact.

## Compensation and Benefits

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, location, and overall fit for the role. Benefits may include:
